What You *Should* Be Drinking after a Sweat Sesh
Vitamin Kay’s Post-Workout Shake
Throw your processed protein powder away and swap it out for some grass-fed bone broth protein powder, organic almond butter, and Greek yogurt!
Many protein powders on the market are made to be highly palatable and contain artificial flavors, GMO soy, added sugars, thickeners, and even highly processed vegetable oils! 🤢
So next time you think of making a post-workout shake, think twice before reaching for a processed powder. Instead, grab a blender and use the ingredients Mother Nature has provided for us!
● 1 frozen banana
● 2/3 cup Greek yogurt
● 1/4 cup almond butter
● 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
● 2 scoops of grass-fed bone broth protein powder
● 1/2 tablespoon raw honey
● Splash of milk
● ice
Blend well on high speed. Garnish with Ceylon cinnamon.
Why garnish it with cinnamon?
Research shows that cinnamon can help support blood sugar regulation! Physiologically, this is always helpful when consuming a shake containing banana and raw honey.
Why CEYLON cinnamon?
Research suggests Ceylon cinnamon contains significantly less coumarin. Coumarin is a compound that can be harmful to the liver in large quantities. Ceylon cinnamon has also been shown to be richer in antioxidants than Saigon or Cassia cinnamon. Most supermarkets sell Saigon or Cassia as it is cheaper to cultivate and produce compared to Ceylon.
